PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE
Notice is hereby given that the City of Red Wing Advisory Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the City Council Chambers at City Hall on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., to hear and make a recommendation on a
Conditional Use Permit (CUP) request by Mayo Clinic Health System - Southeast Region, 701 Hewitt Boulevard, Red Wing, MN, to operate a "Medical
Facilities" use at 906 College Avenue, in the former Seminary Home. The
applicant is decommissioning the Professional and Community Center located at 1407 W. Fourth Street and plans on relocating its outpatient Behavioral Health Unit and office support staff to the 906 College Avenue site. The office space and Behavioral Health space will house a combined total of 80 full and part-time employees. The Red Wing Zoning Ordinance requires a CUP for a Medical Facilities use in the R-2 Two-Family Residential Zoning District.
The legal description of this property is as follows: Plat and Parcel No. 55-005-0010, 55-300-1230, 55-300-1220, 55-300-1210, 55-300-1200
The westerly ½ of Block 1, except part to streets, ORIGINAL PLAT CITY OF RED WING, and Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Block 8, INSTITUTE ADDITION and vacated Franklin Street and alley, City of Red Wing, Goodhue County,
Minnesota. More commonly known as 906 College Avenue.
Written or oral comments to said CUP may be presented at this public hearing or filed with the City Clerk prior to this hearing. Each response will be duly considered and evaluated before any formal action is taken by the Planning Commission.
The applicant and the public will have the opportunity to present comments on the Advisory Planning Commission's recommendations at a City Council meeting. The purpose of allowing comments is to provide the applicant and the public with the opportunity to directly address the Council on the matter. The comment period cannot be used for the presentation of new information as all relevant information needs to be provided to the Advisory Planning Commission at the public hearing. If new information is presented to the City Council that was not considered at the public hearing of the Advisory Planning Commission, the Council may vote to send the matter back to the Advisory Planning Commission. All comments will be kept to the customary 3-minute limit. The City Council meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on August 27, 2018.
