PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that the City of Red Wing Advisory Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the City Council Chambers at City Hall on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at 7:00 p.m., to hear and make a recommendation on a Conditional Use Permit (CUP) request by James Borden, 920 East Avenue, to
operate a "Home Occupation (Not Meeting Criteria)" in a detached garage behind his house at 920 East Avenue. The applicant is proposing to use the existing building for an artist's studio and workshop. The proposed Home Occupation is considered to "not meet criteria" due to its location outside of the principal structure (house) and square footage of space to be used for the Home
Occupation. The property is zoned R-2 Two-Family Residential; the Red Wing Zoning Ordinance requires a CUP for a Home Occupation (Not Meeting Criteria) in the R-2 District.

Plat and Parcel No. 55-155-0060, 55-035-0190, and 55-035-0170
Lot 11 of the AUDITOR'S SUBDIVISION OF BLOCK 5 OF FREEBORN & CO'S ADDITION TO RED WING, part of the northwesterly ½ of Lot 11 of E.H. Druse's Subdivision of part of Lot 2 of Block 5 of Freeborn and Company's
Addition to Red Wing, Minnesota, and a tract of adjacent land with a perpetual right of way. More commonly known as 920 East Avenue. A complete legal
description of the property may be viewed at the Community Development
Department at 419 Bush Street, Red Wing, Minnesota.
Written or oral comments to said CUP may be presented at this public hearing or filed with the City Clerk prior to this hearing. Each response will be duly
considered and evaluated before any formal action is taken by the Planning Commission.
The applicant and the public will have the opportunity to present comments on the Advisory Planning Commission's recommendations at a City Council meeting. The purpose of allowing comments is to provide the applicant and the public with the opportunity to directly address the Council on the matter. The comment period cannot be used for the presentation of new information as all relevant
information needs to be provided to the Advisory Planning Commission at the public hearing. If new information is presented to the City Council that was not considered at the public hearing of the Advisory Planning Commission, the Council may vote to send the matter back to the Advisory Planning Commission. All comments will be kept to the customary 3-minute limit. The City Council meeting is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on January 14, 2019.
