Southern Minnesota pounded with Saturday snow; around 2.3 inches fell locally


The first day of December saw upwards of 11 inches of snow for some areas in southern Minnesota.
Areas in southeastern Minnesota like Rochester, Kenyon and Plainview saw 7.1 inches, 5.8 inches, and 4.1 inches of snow, respectively, according to the National Weather Service on Sunday.
Three inches of snow accumulated in Zumbro Falls, while Lake City and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport saw 2.8 inches.
Only 2.3 inches of snow was reported in Red Wing.
Lakefield and Sherburn saw 11 inches of snow in the western part of the state.
